Back up data while power remains; intermittent charging can turn into no charging without consulting your calendar.
Stop using and charging for danger signs
Disconnect power and stop when:
- the screen or back cover lifts or bulges;
- the phone becomes unusually hot while idle or charging;

Never pour or spray alcohol, water, contact cleaner, oil, adhesive remover, or household cleaner into a phone port. A product safe for one connector under professional procedure may attack seals, coatings, plastics, or the battery area in another.
Power off and follow the exact official cleaning instruction. If the manufacturer permits a dry non-metal method, use only the specified tool, motion, and depth. Otherwise let a qualified technician clean and inspect it.
The cost of service may feel disproportionate to lint. The cost of turning lint into bent pins has traditionally declined to sympathise.
Use wireless charging only as a bounded workaround
When the exact phone supports wireless charging and shows no swelling, liquid, heat, odour, or damage, an approved compatible wireless charger may provide temporary power for backup.
Remove incompatible or metal-containing cases as instructed. Centre the phone, use the specified power adapter, keep ventilation clear, and monitor temperature. Stop for unusual heat or repeated connection cycling.
Wireless charging does not repair the port. It can add heat and may charge more slowly. Do not use it to keep a damaged battery or liquid-exposed phone operating.
A cable that needs an angle is a stop sign
Do not prop, twist, tape, or weight a cable into contact. Mechanical pressure can:
- widen a loose port;
- bend or wear contacts;
